The Myth, The Legend, The Lore Master: MyNameIsByf
When it comes to Destiny 2, there are many who would be considered experts on the lore, game mechanics, and more in the community. One such person goes by the online handle; MyNameisByf. Byf has been the number one go to for in game Lore since the days of Destiny 1. Bungie has been the type of game studio to produce amazing story telling in their games with a massive universe behind the characters to deliver a video game experience like no other. Destiny is no exception. Byf creates videos explain the lore that players can find in game by unlocking chapters in Lore Books, lore hidden within collector’s editions of each expansion/game that comes out, easter eggs within seasonal content and much more.
The following that Byf has amassed online is staggering. With nearly 1 million subscribers, Byf has the largest Lore following in the Destiny community. With work such as “The Complete Story of Destiny” which covers the entire story of Destiny 1 leading up to at the time the most current story line in Destiny 2 and other works of reporting and explaining lore within the destiny universe, players new and old can rely on Byf giving them the information they need to get a richer and deeper understanding of the world Bungie has given players to experience.

Byf is not only the “Lore Master” of the community (followed up by MyelinGames and even EvanF1997) but is also a huge fan and dedicated player. Recently, Bungie has revealed the roadmap for Destiny 2 for the next 3 years. With the next major expansion, The Witch Queen only days away, players can look forward to the massive lore entries that Byf will report on. Speaking of the expansions, the end of the Light vs Darkness saga will come to an end in 2024 with The Final Shape expansion and this is something that has piqued the interest of some members of the community including Byf on what this can mean as shapes do have a significant meaning in the universe of Destiny.
People will just have to wait and see what Byf has in store for the lore aspect of Destiny as The Witch Queen will have a massive influx of lore for players and other members of the community to unlock and indulge in to get that deeper understanding of the world they play in and their playground as they take on the mantle of a Guardian.
