Kingdom Hearts, a franchise that has a large following due to its unique mash-up of Final Fantasy & Disney characters. This series has been the apple of fan’s eyes since 2002 and shows no signs of stopping. Let’s dig deeper into how this franchise was able to help people find they're calling on YouTube.

Kingdom Hearts is a franchise that has spanned 12 games (not including the remakes) and has garnered an extremely loyal and passionate fan base around the world. The odd pairing of Final Fantasy Characters (such as Cloud from Final Fantasy VII and Leon from Final Fantasy VIII) and Disney Characters (such as Mickey Mouse and Jack Skellington) has worked and is what gives this series a fresh take on the JRPG (Japanese role-playing game) genre of gaming as each new title has fans speculating which Final Fantasy character and Disney movie will be added next.
The intense popularity of Kingdom Hearts has given many the tools to create content and in turn, make a name for themselves on both YouTube and Twitch. Some notable channels are HMK, The Gamer’s Joint, and ProdigyxCD. These channels focus solely on news, their own personal speculation on past or future events concerning the series, gameplay, and more surrounding Kingdom Hearts. ProdigyxCD was gracious enough to conduct an interview and these are what was asked when it comes to his background and why Kingdom Hearts was chosen to be the focus of the channel.
During my time talking to ProdigyxCD, He divulged some information regarding his background. ProdigyxCD says: I’ve kind of been into Gaming since I was super young around 3 or 4 when my mother let me play Super Mario Bros 3 on her SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) since then I gradually got into more games whenever I had the opportunity to play them, which generally was whenever I wasn’t in school. So, I was getting into games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Kingdom Hearts, Jak, and Daxter all at a Young Age and have stuck with almost all of them as I’ve gotten older. It’s hard to think of a single thing that started my Passion it felt like more of a slow progression while I was growing up.”
This is a great way of learning more about those you follow or watch online as it helps to delve into a deeper bond with your preferred creator.
Another form of developing a connection with one preferred content creator and/or one’s followers is to know why they do what they do. To get more on that, ProdigyxCD goes on to say this about his focus on Kingdom Hearts: “Yes. I always had internal discussions about what I could be the most “consistent” with, not just for the viewers but for myself as well. Trying to balance what I enjoy with what I want to make content on now is something Kingdom Hearts fit perfectly for Kingdom Hearts being my favorite piece of media ever, and the beautiful messages that have resonated with me on a deep emotional level since I was very young create the perfect connection between me and my content for me to have fun while also being able to entertain others. I tend to express my love and passion for other things mostly through live streams or other social media accounts at the moment.”
